A piece of art. They did use the same people as they had shown in the early scenes when he got of the station and I have a theory of the person with glasses might be a side character from your name. I wanted to see more of the protagonists interaction and back story with his mother but I think a 46 min movie can't cover everything. Characters well written. Shoe making was short , that is good but I wanted more time of when he was taking the shoe measure of Yukino. I would have loved to hear a bit of her background too. The ending song was not excellent but it did fit with the movie theme. Animation top notch. Story, I would say makoto shinkai pics up a topic and drops a banger. I would not call it a masterpiece . I leave that to people but for me it was peaceful and enjoyable. Suits more with my desires,I guess
