To be honest, not a good way to start anime but you need to watch this at some point to watch Shippuden but otherwise it's not THAT good but it's a classic. It's basically a prequel to Shippuden. Nothing too major happens here though except maybe the Kyubi, chunnin exams, and, this is optional, the backstories and clans of each main character.
