Ok, saw the first few eps, it is 100% living up to the manga, so I have high hopes. The only thing i think had a love-hate relationship with the manga was the facial expressions, they were a bit bland if i were to describe it, but they always told the emotions that were being felt by the characters perfectly. Anyway, the plot of this story is underlying the issues with a long life/near immortality and how life isn't as fair as it seems. There will be major fight scenes onward in the anime but they are not the main point. What this anime is truly trying to convey is how we as people, adapt, learn and understand things that are going around us. Frieren, whilst being an elf, show multiple human characteristics like waking up late and eating a lot. In a sense, she unironically is more human than the average human. Furthermore, she has two apprentices if i do recall, a fighter and a mage student, they too will explore a coming of age story alongside Frieren. I highly recommend the manga, it is in one of my top 10 manga of all time, and please dont drop this anime, it is a masterpiece. Also if you like something like this, you should enjoy this movie: Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms and the anime Trigun. This is a 9.8/10 for me.
